    Abstract

In this work a new approach to finite element model management and pre-processing is proposed and realized. Basic scripts were programmed using Python scripting language and they were tested with a real industry level FEA model. An example main program was also prepared to make it easier to use these scripts. Basic functionality was prepared but as new requirement appear new scripts should be programmed or existing modified. The developed system makes it easy to expand the functionality and even makes it possible to develop new scripts which could for example translate model data between different FEA codes.
