Abstract

We study the magnetic field dependence of the maximum Josephson current in a homogeneous parallel array of Josephson junctions in the limit of very small values of the characteristic inductance parameter βL. We show that the usual interference patterns obtained for βL = 0 and for vanishingly small junction to loop area ratios are enriched by new features when βL is finite, but still small enough to allow a perturbative analysis of the problem, and when the single junction interference pattern is taken into account.
