Abstract
The VTT-coordinated R&D programme on real-time transport
information culminated the nine-year Finnish series of
programmes on Intelligent Transport Systems. AINO, as
well as the other programmes in the series, indicated,
among other lessons learned, the importance of R&D on
deployment, the need for focused targets, the amount of
funding required to ensure impacts, and the necessity of
sufficient fundamental research.
