    Abstract

This paper describes the status of the forest-product industry in the Limestone coast region of the Green Triangle and the steps necessary to transform it to a more sustainable and profitable future. It covers the process leading to the development of a technology roadmap with two basic requirements: improving the existing industry in the short term and introducing novel concepts with a bio-refinery focus in the medium and long-term.
