Abstract
The European research community is actively working
toward implementation of the first permanent geological
disposal of spent nuclear fuel. Finland has been in a
lead role in developing safe technologies, often in
partnership with researchers and organisations
world-wide. The article gives a synopsis of ten ongoing
or recently complemented European projects in which
Finland, mainly Posiva, VTT as well as B+Tech Oy, has ad
an active role in scientific development.
