Abstract
In the first part of the study, a method to characterize device resolution profile was proposed. This study discusses the use of the profile in soft proofing where resolution effects of image reproduction are simulated. The device resolution profile is used as a look up table in simulations where the original image is distorted by the nonlinear tone reproduction, the noise and the neighboring effects. The main imprecisions of the simulations are discussed.
