Abstract

Autonomous mobile machines are increasing productivity in several cases, but the change to full automation is often too expensive, inflexible, complex or hard to integrate to the environment at once. Manual and semiautonomous operations are needed to fix the lacking compatibility with the environment. In MixedFleet project specific safety issues are related to cases including Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), manually operated forklift trucks, and overhead cranes, all of which work alongside with human workers.
