Abstract
The research focuses on scratch tests of small scale
PEG-impregnated wood samples. The original samples were
taken in green condition in order to test the scratch
performance of wood under processing conditions. The
scratch test measures penetration depth and forces during
scratching of the sample. The effect of different
PEG-impregnations on the friction force and permanent
penetration depth are quantified. Information on the
recovered cell deformation and observations on
disintegration of the wood and cell wall structure are
also obtained.
