Abstract
This paper discusses various aspects related to the segmentation of cardiovascular magnetic resonance images using deformable models. A short survey on segmentation techniques is first presented. Thereafter, a recently developed method, based on a volumetric template, is demonstrated in two case studies. The method is applied to the segmentation of the heart, and to the motion tracking of the heart. In the both cases, the method produced overall good results with minor errors.
