Kaj Riska

Research output: Book/ReportReport

Abstract

This is an interim report from a project investigating by model scale tests ship response and loads encountered when the ship rams large multi-year ice floes. First the scaling principles are touched upon and then the model design is described. The calibration of the model design is described thoroughly as well as the model ice types. Measured test results and some of the analyses concentrating mainly on the influence of ice strength on the ship response are presented.
