    Abstract

An optimization and planning system is created for an electronic manufacturing case. The purpose of the system is to help the production planner quickly make good production plans, which are within the constraints and to easily verify plans in varying situations. The developed system is case dependant, but used architecture is general and can be used also in other cases. The system uses stochastic local search with linear programming, heuristics and tabu list as methods. The results, that have been gotten this far, have been good and some further development will be done to finalize the system. Also other methods, like genetic algorithm and simulated annealing, have been discussed here briefly to this case problem.
