    Abstract

AM has proved to be a valuable tool in silencer development using scale models. Complicated shapes are possible, but the method is advantageous also in producing standard silencer geometries in small scale. Printing of holes with diameters well below 0.5 mm has turned out to be a challenge with present printers. Simulation challenges include uncertainties of various origins, as well as scaling of the results between small and full scales.
