Abstract
This paper describes a complex version of the variable step (VS) adaptive algorithm in an interference suppression filter. The choice of its internal parameters is studied with computer simulations. The algorithm is then compared to the well-known LMS and RLS (Kalman) algorithms in a time-variant channel. The simulation results are quite encouraging and show that the VS algorithm competes well with the fast converging Kalman algorithm.
