Abstract
The lecture presented an approach for combining user
centeredness with designers' insight, responsibility and
risk taking, dealing with different aspects of healt,
wellbeing and design, under the topic of psychiatric
care. The goal was to find opportunities for design to
improve the care environments, practices and image. The
overall project was a pilot in a more extensive program
365|Wellbeing that was Aalto's main project in World
Design Capital 2012 (WDC12). Co-operating partners were
two units of Helsinki Health Center: Aurora Psychiatric
Hospital and Malmi outpatient clinic
