Abstract
A technique of simulating atmospheric rime icing in small-scale is described. The method is useful in estimating ice loads on complex structures for which theoretical icing modelling is difficult. The effects of changes in the structural design on ice loads can be readily detected by this technique. Results of wind tunnel icing experiments using a 1 : 15 scale model of a lattice mast segment are presented.
