Abstract

The Proceedings volume, Software Development Trends, of the Joint Finnish-Soviet Software Symposium consists of papers by Finnish and Soviet scientist, engineers and software specialists.The Symposium, organized under the auspices of the Working Group on Cybernetics of the Finnish-Soviet Commission on Scientific and Technical Co-Operation, was held in Helsinki, Finland, on November 15-17,1988.More than 50 persons from universities, research institutes and software companies attended the Symposium, and 26 papers were presented.The papers have been organized into eight sessions: 1 Design of Distributed and Embedded Systems, 2 Computer Aided Software Engineering, 3 Language and Interface Design, 4 Knowledge Based Systems, 5 Software Industry, 6 Software Technology for CAD and CASE, 7 Realtime Software Development, 8 Algorithms.
