Spectrum fatigue testing for materials characterization

    Abstract

    Spectrum fatigue testing methods for materials characterisation are described. A new algorithm for calculation of an equivalent constant amplitude loading is proposed and discussed. The derivation of the applicable equations is presented. The new damage based approach provides a more realistic presentation of spectrum loading and can be applied to a wide range of fatigue equations.
