Abstract
5G is the new generation of radio systems and network architecture, which is expected coming in use within year 2019. Global network equipment manufacturers and telecommunication vendors are developing technologies for 5G. At the same time, mobile network operators are developing services for consumers and businesses, despite 5G technology is not yet ready. With the 5G, new kind of different use cases and business models can be realized. There is unique opportunity for new stakeholders to offer something unexpected to markets, as the 5G technology is something very different than existing communication technologies. This paper discusses how start-ups can join the future 5G ecosystems, especially in the context of Smart Cities.
