Abstract

We report the first s timulated B rillouin s cattering s ignal f rom t he 3 µm thick low-loss silicon-on-insulator waveguide platform. The Brillouin gain coefficient is 2.5 m−1W−1 and 1.9 m−1W−1 at 37.6 GHz for the rib and strip waveguides, respectively.
