Abstract
Nowadays, collaboration networks are regarded as a necessity for companies to compete in dynamic business environment. Still, a methodology to support management of collaboration and strategic networks is limited. The aim of this research was to create a method to support management of strategic networks. In two Finnish production networks, a new network model was created and tested to enhance strategy execution in networks. The new network development model includes the following key areas: supply chain, product and technology development and management of collaboration. The new model elucidates common goals of the strategic networks and clarifies the next project steps. It serves as a tool of goal setting, action planning, and process evaluation. The most particular feature of the model is its use as a strategy execution tool in dynamic networks. By means of the new model the network development processes are broadly examined.
