Sustainable chips - Roadmap for advancing circularity and resilience in semiconductor industry

Research output: Book/ReportReport

Abstract

VISION 2040: The semiconductor industry has seamlessly embedded circular economy solutions into core business to strengthen competitiveness and security of supply, reduce environmental impacts and reinforce the resilience of society.

The roadmap outlines the sector’s key environmental challenges, highlights emerging regulatory and geopolitical pressures, and presents practical pathways for advancing circularity – from near-term improvements to longer-term development needs.
The aim of the roadmap is to clarify where new collaborations, data, knowledge exchange and capabilities will be required to co-create value, reduce risks and build a more sustainable and competitive semiconductor ecosystem in Finland.
The roadmap is intended for industry actors, research organisations and public-sector stakeholders who together shape the technological and operational foundations of the field.
