Sustainable policies and approaches: the Finnish case

Abstract

The paper gives a short summary of the development of approaches to the sustainable construction in Finland. This field has been an interest area of policy-makers and stake-holders in the sector for decades. It has been supported with national academic and technology programmes. Many piloting projects have been performed in building and district level in order to develop new processes, assessment methods and technologies. Some examples are also briefly described.
