Systems and methods for sharing and visualizing vehicle profiles for finding a vehicle to follow

Described herein are systems and methods for sharing and visualizing vehicle profiles to enable a driver to select a vehicle to follow. In accordance with an embodiment the method comprises receiving from each vehicle of a plurality of nearby vehicles, information regarding respective vehicle route and vehicle sensor capabilities; based on the received information, determining whether (i) at least one vehicle sensor capability of a first vehicle in the plurality of nearby vehicles exceeds a corresponding sensor capability of a follower vehicle, and whether (ii) the route of the first vehicle comprises at least a portion of a planned route of the follower vehicle; and in response to the determination, causing the follower vehicle to follow the first vehicle for the portion of the route.
