Abstract
The simulated bit error rate (BER) performance of the downlink of a WCDMA system, which uses space and path diversity techniques over a Rayleigh fading multipath channel is, evaluated. A Rake tap selection scheme exploiting periodically inserted pilot symbols is presented and a threshold is utilized to select the strongest paths for MRC Rake combination. The simulation results show that the proposed simple scheme works well in multipath fading channels.
