    Abstract

Data-driven digital services have become an integral part of the optimization of transport as well as customer experience. When seeking fresh solutions and services for public transportation, the open innovation paradigm could be considered as a viable approach to apply. As an embodiment of this approach provider-driven living labs are arranged by public organizations as well as private companies to co-develop new products, services, and solutions. Tampere Urban Rail Mobility Services (TURMS) living lab combines a public transport vehicle as a physical platform and a cloud-based data space as a digital platform, for creating an authentic and secure innovation, development, and testing environment for novel mobility solutions and services. This paper describes system requirements and the architecture of the digital platform needed to support the TURMS living lab data ecosystem.
