    Abstract

Transition towards the circular economy (CE) requires systemic change at society level. From companies this change requires the adoption of circular business models, which needs innovation in value creation, value proposition and value capture. In this paper we focused on understanding what the current understanding of the concept of value in CE business model innovation is, based on scientific literature. Then, we utilized the results to modify the existing circular business model innovation framework. The research was carried out using a systematic literature review. Our results indicate that value capturing is currently a rather underexplored area. In addition, regarding the value proposition, including the perspectives of customers and networks, is a rather unexplored area.
