    Abstract

The multi-user distributed virtual reality environment (DVE) enables the remote users to collaborate with each other in the shared environment over the network. Although the network connects, it also introduces delay to the collaboration. Especially, for a user of the cellular phone networks, such as global system for mobile communications (GSM), the current network performance is poor compared to the wireless local area network (WLAN). To exploit the opportunities of the DVE and the today's increasing market of the mobile devices we introduce the concept of the Prompt, which denotes mobile network protocol for parallel reliable multicast transport protocol (PRMTP). The Prompt speeds up data transportation between the VE and the mobile devices, such as cell-phones and personal digital assistants (PDAs).
