    Abstract

There are numerous types of transmission line bandpass filters. They are usually based on edge coupling and its derivates, such as hairpin, interdigital and combline filters. In general the design is complicated and needs optimization. Transmission line bandpass filter can also be made of thru lines and shorted stubs. The lengths are equal and it is quarter wave at the center frequency. The number of the stubs is the same than the order N of the filter. The design equations can be expressed relative accurately. They can be found in the literature. New equations are derived, which suit better for general use.
