Abstract
Tomorrow's vehicle communicates with other vehicles, infrastructure, hotspots and devices inside the vehicle. Entertainment and consumer electronics are gaining ground in vehicles to a greater extent. Safer driving is still one of the most important goals of the future. This paper presents the different communication channels of connected vehicles with description of their development trends in the near future. In addition, standardisation of in-car computing platforms as well as connectivity and integration of in-vehicle systems and consumer electronics related issues are discussed.
