Abstract
The construction of a high-resolution diode laser/grating spectrometer and its application to the ν2 band of CH3CN around 2270 cm−1 was reported. The K structure of the band has been partly resolved but the α2A constant, being exceptionally small, was not well determined. The band analysis revealed strong perturbations which are explained by the interaction of the ν2 level with the combinations ν3 + ν4, ν4 + ν6, and ν4 + ν7 + ν8(E).
