Abstract
This paper seeks a new understanding of the relationship between emerging technology and the creation of innovation ecosystems. Specifically, the focus is on how collaborative foresight activities can facilitate the development of an innovation ecosystem around potentially disruptive emerging technologies. Based on a qualitative case study on quantum computing framed by a crafted conceptual framework, we explored the status of this technology from the beneficiaries' point of view and identified relevant actors and the innovation ecosystem. The research aims to contribute to the broader discussion on innovation in networked settings and the role of foresight in shaping the early phase of technology development.
