    Abstract

Flux decline due to concentration and fouling is a serious problem in membrane filtration especially in filtration of wastewaters. Ultrasound based on-line cleaning for membrane filtration of industrial wastewater was studied. This study was focused on the suitable ultrasound propagation direction and the effect of the transmembrane pressure, which previously have got little attention in the research of ultrasound assisted membrane filtration. Some aspects of the effect of ultrasound frequency were also studied.
