Using narratives for constructing intelligent environments

Research output: Contribution to conferenceConference AbstractScientific

    Abstract

The presentation relates to the topic: transmedia storytelling, "world building" and constructing narratives that reach across multiple platforms, the context being intelligent environment (IE) research. In IE research, narratives have been used for involving people to new technology development processes, and more recently, for presenting the core findings of the research. The new method tries to capture the essence of research findings and transform them into prototypes that have narrative form. The author illustrates several research studies according to which she has created narrative prototypes from the research results; stories that apply the knowledge gained from the IE studies and the user experience of the domain owners.
