Abstract

FINIX is a fuel performance module developed at VTT since 2012. Its intended purpose is to be coupled with other reactor core solvers on a source-code level to form a new reactor core analysis framework Kraken. The new and updated models of FINIX have been recently validated, and the results of the validation indicate the current strengths, such as the steady-state temperature predictions, and the shortcomings, such as the limited application range of the mechanical models of the cladding. These will be discussed alongside the development process and general logic structure of FINIX.
