Abstract

The purpose of the research is to increase knowledge on value co-creation within b-to-b networks. The research strategy employed is a qualitative multiple-case study. By integrating the conceptual discussion on value co-creation with practical experiences in two cases, we discuss the value of networked service concept from the perspectives of network partners and the customers of the network. As the conclusion, we propose that reconciling the views of the network and the customer about the service benefits and value is a vital prerequisite for offering a networked service concept. However, several conflicting views of the benefits were discovered as well as challenges upon agreeing on the benefits and value of a networked service concept. The study contributes to the domain of NSD literature by increasing understanding of an emergent field, collaborative service development in b-to-b networks.
