    Abstract

    This publication documents the papers to be presented at the Virtual prototyping seminar on 1.2.2001 at Otaniemi Espoo. The seminar presents the main results of Virtual prototyping research programme (1998-2000) of the Technical Research Centre of Finland VTT. The research programme included two main research projects. In the research project 'Integrated simulation based design', the aim was to develop an integrated simulation based design system which combines the design, manufacturing and use of a product in virtual environment. The goal of 'Virtual Integrated Product and Production Development'-research project was creation of integrated product process to accelerate the whole development process from concept to production launch using virtual production tools currently available at VTT Manufacturing Technology.
