Abstract
This paper presents a device for visual online
measurement used in TUT microfactory for biomedical
implants. This device is used in a laser micro lathe for
measuring the diameter and shape of the laser
micromachined part on-line in order to control the
turning process and to achieve the targeted final
dimensions and shape. This paper evaluates some key
characteristics of the device and the measurement method
affecting the attainable measurement accuracy of the
device.
