Abstract
This paper gives an introduction to process inline visualization with process signal analysis. Work was done in a Finnish TMP mill on Metso Jylhä SD65 refiner line. Studied refiners are powered by ABB's 14 MW synchronous motors. Rapid load variations of a TMP refiner were studied from the fast logged process measurement data and factors for the rapid variation were found out. Visualization of the refining process was made from several places in the process at the product situation and images for the pulp flow were related to refining parameters. The calculated variables from process inline images were related to process measurements, and different process states.
