Research output: Book/ReportReport

Abstract

The fluid flow characteristics near a fixed offshore structure and the hydrodynamic loads acting on the structure are examined in the present study. A numerical method is developed and results of calculations with a vertical cylindrical structure fixed in shallow water are presented. Hydrodynamic pressure and fluid velocity are evaluated at the sea bottom near the structure, which is the area, where the scouring phenomenon may occur.
