    Abstract

In this paper hydrodynamic responses in waves for marine structures are briefly discussed. The aspects involved in the hydrodynamic wave loads and the predictions of the loads in the ultimate and fatigue strength analyses are given. Methods used in wave load predictions for the marine structures are presented. The main emphasis is in the global loads and especially in nonlinear wave loads. The methods to determine impact loads are also shortly reviewed.
