Abstract

Sustainability is important for companies today and many companies set sustainability targets for their operation. Work-related travelling is one of the functions in which sustainability could be improved and Workplace Travel Plan (WTP) offers a valuable tool for that. This paper presents the results of a study conducted in Finland during spring 2021. The aim of the study was to analyze the current state of sustainable commute and the need to develop WTPs in Finland. The study was based on interviews of Finnish transport authorities, cities and companies and a survey targeted to Finnish organizations. In addition, literature was studied to support the process. The results indicate that WTPs are not yet broadly implemented in Finland, but organizations could profit from a guideline or a toolkit for implementation.
