WP6 Strategic research environment: Periodic report of 3rd year

The objective of WP6 is to create unique and world class facilities in Finland for the research of energy producing combustion engines and their auxiliary systems. The focuses of the research are energy efficiency, emission reduction, alternative energy sources, and the application of new concepts, designs, and materials. During the third year of FCEP (M25-M36), the work of work package has proceeded to building and commissioning, as planned. Many new devices have been taken into use and already started to exploit in scientific research. New optical engine of Aalto university and AGCO Power's emission laboratory are prominent examples of achievements within WP6. Only major deviation from the planned schedule is the delay in the realization of VTT's medium speed engine laboratory.
